Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pink gel food coloring
- Edible silver glitter or decorations
- Pink sanding sugar
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt
Set aside
In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together
Divide the dough in half
Add pink gel food coloring to one half and knead until the color is evenly distributed
Shape each half of the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line baking sheets with parchment paper
Roll out the pink dough to about 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface
Use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out tree shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheets
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
Once the cookies are completely cooled, sprinkle them with pink sanding sugar and edible silver glitter or decorations for a festive touch
