Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the cinnamon sugar coating:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

Grease a donut pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius

Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl

Melt the butter and stir in the powdered sugar in a separate bowl until thoroughly blended

One egg at a time, add them and mix thoroughly after each addition

Add the vanilla extract and apple cider and stir

Mixing until just combined, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ones

Spoon about two thirds of the batter into each mold in the donut pan that has been prepared

A toothpick inserted into a donut should come out clean after baking for 12 to 15 minutes in a preheated oven

In a shallow bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon to make the cinnamon sugar coating while the donuts are baking

After baking, the donuts should be allowed to cool in the pan for a few minutes before being moved to a wire rack to finish cooling

While still warm, coat each donut evenly with melted butter and roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture

Enjoy your freshly made baked apple cider donuts after serving
