The Jungle Book
This book is about Mowgli, the man cub, and tells the story of Mowgli’s life in the jungle. The story begins when Mowgli’s village is attacked by Shere Khan and he is left in a basket to float through the river. He is discovered by a pack of wolves that rescues him and raises him with that other baby wolves as one of the pack.
As he grows up in the jungle he befriends other wild
animals including Baloo the bear, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi the mongoose and Bagheera
the black panther. They teach him the laws of the jungle and train him to fight
Shere Khan, a tiger who despises human beings. Many of you may have already
seen the movie and known the story line. Yet reading this book is great fun.
